I have been tagged

One of my blogger friends, Maura who is now my IRL friend tagged me for this post so here goes....

Here are the rules: You give five random facts about yourself. You answer the questions provided to you. You come up with different questions. Then, you tag five people to do it, too.

Five Facts about Me:

I cannot wait to be a mom. In my "life plan", I would have had 2-3 kids by now. Too bad, I am still working on finding a husband!
Today on January 30, I became an aunt of 2 nephews! Luke James entered the world at 2:26 AM, weight 6 lbs. 9 oz.
My biggest accomplishment last year was losing 35 lbs.
My second biggest accomplishment was finding the guts to end a 4 year relationship with the boy who I thought was "the one".
Possibly due to the 2 previous facts (definitely the 4rth), I found a boy who really might be "the one". The best thing is is that he tells me I'm "the one" for him almost on a daily basis.

1. What's your favorite movie?
My Father the Hero
You have probably never heard of it
Here is a post about my favorite movies.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Charleston, SC
I've never even been there, but think it would  be a great town to live in!
I wouldn't mind living somewhere in Europe for a year too!

3. Summer or winter?
I think I would have to go with summer. The biggest reason for that is because I am a teacher. It really has nothing to do with the weather!

4. If you won one million dollars, what would you splurge on?
That's hard. I would probably splurge on a house. I am so tired of living in an apartment!

5. Do you have any siblings?
I have one brother. He is a year and a half younger than me. He is getting married this year to the mother of his now 2 children.

6. What's your dream job?
Being a mother!
If it has to be a paying a job, I am really not sure. I would like to be some sort of event planner or maybe an interior decorator. Both of those sound super fun!

7. If you had to give up one social media outlet between Blogger, Facebook and Twitter, what would it be?
Well I gave up facebook a year ago and haven't looked back yet.

8. What's your favorite cartoon character?
I am not a cartoon person AT ALL. I never really watched cartoons when I was little and can't stand them now.

9. What's one beauty product you can't live without?
Only one??? That's tough.

10. Give up eating out for a month or give up shopping for a month?
Definitely eating out. I don't like to eat out that much now so it wouldn't be that hard for me.

11. Can you speak any other languages?
Nope, just English.

And here are my questions:

1. What is YOUR worst bad habit?
2. What bad habits drive YOU crazy?
3. What is one thing you wish you could change about yourself?
4. Clean or messy?
5. One thing you miss about being a kid?
6. Favorite song of all time?
7. If you could meet a genie in a bottle, what would be your 3 wishes?
8. What would you have as your last meal?
9. Favorite thing to do on a Saturday afternoon?
10. Favorite workout?

Anyone?

So I am going to a Mardi Gras ball this weekend and need to figure out how I will do my hair. Anyone want to be my personal stylist for the night?? I have no talent when it comes to my hair and I also have thick, curly, frizzy hair that I try my best to straighten and tame on a daily basis! It has gotten a lot better over the years thanks to the invention of the flat iron! I've seen quite a few that I like on Pinterest, but could probably never copy doing it myself!

So what are your thoughts?? What should I do with my hair this weekend?? Because let's be honest...it won't look anything like any of these pictures!

Phone Photo Fun

Today I am participating in Phone Photo Fun with Savanah. There's really not that much interesting stuff in my phone, but here goes.

The first few pictures are a few from our trip to DC back in December. I lugged around my DSLR camera with several lenses...yea the battery was dead....yes I am an idiot. So I had to use my iPhone.

I cannot wait to see The Lion King musical this summer. I have been waiting for this for YEARS!

I cannot wait to see Cory Morrow and Roger Creager on February 25 after the Rodeo Cook Off. Some girl friends of mine are coming in town and it will be a great weekend!

I love my new place setting in my dining room. I started collecting Juliska Berry and Thread plates awhile back....why wait to get married right? It obviously wasn't happening anytime soon anyway!

My sweet little one curled up right next to me. She has to be next to me at all times of the day. Seriously.

My outfit on Saturday night. Terribly picture quality.

Most Hated US City

Here is one place that I have been, but have no desire to go back to.

Miami

Reasons:
1. The service is terrible. Tips are included in EVERYTHING. Therefore you get terrible service at every restaurant you go to.

2. It is super expensive. Go out for dinner and a drink and your are spending $90 easy.

3. The beaches are overcrowded. I don't like to be sitting on top of someone at the beach. That is how Miami is. We weren't even in South Beach. We were much further north and it was still packed.

4. I felt like I was in a foreign country. Seriously no one spoke English. It was tons of Europeans speaking all different languages. This didn't bother me that much, but got annoying eventually. It was impossible to communicate with people in my own country.

5. It was just not my scene. I'm not a clubby type of girl. I am a laid back Gulf Shores/Destin family oriented beach type of girl. Way too many people there for me. I like a relaxed calm beach.

The only reason we went there was because it was on the way from the Fort Lauderdale airport to Key West so we figured we might as well see what it's all about. Well we saw and we are OK with never going back again.

I have heard from many other people that love Miami. I guess it's just your own personal opinion. Maybe I didn't see the right parts of the city. Have you been to Miami? What did you think?

Places I have been

Now that you know where I want to go, here are a few of my favorites in the US.

1. New Orleans
Being from Louisiana, of course I had to include this one. There's nothing better than walking around the French Quarter with a drink in your hand. If you have never been to New Orleans during Christmas time, you must take a stroll through the Roosevelt Hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous.

2. Key West

I went there this past summer and cannot wait to go back. It is such a laid back neat town. The beaches are gorgeous as well. We had so much fun walking around Duval street and snorkeling in the ocean. The locals were so fun to hang out with.

3. Los Angeles

I went here on a girls trip back in 2009 which I wrote about here, here, here, here, and here. It was such an amazing time. It was the absolute perfect place to go with my best friend.

4. Gulf Shores/Orange Beach
I have been here way too many times to count. It was only about 4-5 hours from my hometown. We also went here for many spring breaks, bachelorette trips, etc. I am pretty sure I will be going here for a week in June and again for another annual girls trip. I can't wait! It is so relaxing.

5. Austin

I have only been here once, but loved it. I think I am going back again in April and I am super excited about it. It is such a laid back and gorgeous city.

There are many other cities that I could write about that I have been to, but I think these were my favorite. I also really enjoyed New York City and Washington DC, but I didn't include those on the list because while I loved to visit them, I could never actually live there. I enjoy my own transportation way too much! What are some of your favorite places in the US?

Oh the Places You'll Go

If you know me at all, you know that I love to travel. I did quite a bit of traveling in the past couple of months including Washington DC, Denver, Colorado Springs, New York City, Florida, New Orleans, and Lafayette. I don't think I am forgetting any cities. There are still many different places I would like to go in the US. I am not even going to get into different countries because that list would get way too long. Here is my list in no particular order.

1. Charleston

I have been dying to go to Charleston for so long. There are so many shops that I would like to go to, museums to visit, and beaches close by. I love me a good southern town and feel like this is the perfect picture of one!

2. Savannah

If I ever make it to Charleston, I would absolutely sneak Savannah into that trip also. I imagine it is a gorgeous cute Southern town just like Charleston.

3. San Francisco

Doesn't everyone want to go here simply because of Full House? Thought so.

4. Chicago

I can't wait to go here and do some serious shopping. It seems like a girl's paradise!

5. San Diego

Mountains and the ocean? What more could you ask for?

6. Boston

Source: google.com via Anna J on Pinterest

Boston is such a cute town with so much history. Just look at that street how charming it is.

7. Alaska

I think going to Alaska would be so much fun. I would absolutely love to see all of the wildlife that we definitely don't have in Houston.

8. Hawaii

After looking at this picture, do I really need to explain why I want to go there?

Hopefully in the next year, I can cross at least one of these off of my list, but I am hoping for two! Have you been to any of these places? What are your thoughts?

Good Season Guys

Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na
Hey Hey Hey
Goodbye

Yes, LSU choked. They did not play like a #1 team should play. It was probably the worst I have seen the offense play all year. With that being said, I am still very proud of my team. 13-1 is not an easy task. Congrats to Bama. They showed up to play last night. We did not.

Onto a new year, new season, and a new quarterback!

I am a single 20 something teacher in Charleston. I love to shop, decorate, cook, work with children, hang out with friends, and do anything in/on the water. Living near the beach definitely has its perks! I graduated from LSU and I LOVE to watch football. I will watch almost any college football game, but obviously love my tigers! I love to hang out with my family and hope to have my own one day.
