Now What?

My first emotional post.....here it goes....
What do you do when your world has been totally rocked??? That is what I am wondering because in the summer of  2011, my world has been changed. What do you do when you thought your future was planned out and now you don't even know where you will be next year??

A man who I thought was "The One", a man who talked to me about our future bedroom, the ring he was going to get me, what our kids would do, our future house, our future in general.....decided I wasn't going to be in his future anymore. Apparently it took him 4 years to figure that out. Seriously dude?? You couldn't have figured that out in year 1, maybe year 2??? Really??? You need to be with me for 4 years to figure out that you don't want to be with me????

Where does a newly single girl go from here??? I feel like I am starting over in a new place knowing no one. After a break up- you don't just lose a best friend, you break up with other friends as well. I am sure you all know how that works.

Thankfully, I have had some good girl friends to hang out with to get through this rough time in my life. I have met lots of new people already and I am looking forward to meeting more. I met a large group of really nice girls this past weekend for the Houston's Blogger brunch. I will blog about that as soon as I can find my camera cord. I found about 15 cords today. Of course, none were the ONE I needed.

I know I will get through this. I know I will look back at some point and be glad that it happened. I will realize why God has this plan for my life. But in the meantime, it sucks! So join me on this journey as I begin my search for "Mr. Right". I am sure I will have plenty of guy bashing posts about all the losers I meet along the way! I already have a few I could write!

I also signed up for twitter this morning....trying to figure it all out!

  1. ok, just wanna say...if you EVER need to hang out or talk or anything, let me know!
i can only imagine how hard your situation has been, especially living away from your family.
so here's my advice... focus on yourself, have FUN, and just know that MR. RIGHT is STILL out there looking for you.

  2. I am so sorry about what's going on but I live fully by the philosophy that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle. I know it's really hard and my thoughts are with you! If you ever want to go grab lunch before school starts up again, we should! I'm sad I didn't get to talk to you more yesterday but hope we get to know each other better!

  4. girl, I am so sorry that this happened to you. I have a VERY similar story and if you need to talk I am always here. I was in the same boat with being away from family and everything else so I know what you are going through. Seriously, we need to get together before we go back to school. I am so glad we got to meet yesterday!!!!

  5. Oh my word I am so sorry this happened to you. No one deserves this! I had a similar experience in college.... I started dating someone my freshmen year... at the end of our senior year he broke up with me because he needed to experience other girls. The idiot came crawling back last year and said that I was the one...like I would go back...guys can be so hurtful! If you ever need to talk i`m here for you!

  8. I'm so so sorry :( Heartbreak is the absolute worst. The best thing to do is keep busy and surround yourself with the ones who mean the most to you.

    Keep your head up <3

  9. Oh, no- I'm really sorry. I know it's tough- we've all been there, but these usually happen for the better. Doesn't make it easier or fun, but just know that you will be stronger and happier on the other end of this journey.

  11. Honey, I have totally been there and can man-hate with the best of them. I agree with what others have said - keep busy, meet new people, and he'll regret his mistake one day. :)

I am a single 20 something teacher in Charleston. I love to shop, decorate, cook, work with children, hang out with friends, and do anything in/on the water. Living near the beach definitely has its perks! I graduated from LSU and I LOVE to watch football. I will watch almost any college football game, but obviously love my tigers! I love to hang out with my family and hope to have my own one day.
