Random Thoughts

So the past few weeks have been SUPER busy since school started. I feel like this is the first time I have actually had time to sit down! So here I am blogging....with a glass of wine right next to me! 

I had lots of fun at the Htown bloggers meet up this month. We had about 18 or so girls there. It was the perfect place to visit and the food was great.

In other news, I am starting a running group tomorrow at Memorial Park. It is a group for people of all different levels- never running to running marathons. It's pretty cheap if anyone wants to join me! I just hope that I do not die in this heat! Seriously when is it going to cool down???

I am also very excited about happy hour this week with some friends and some Htown bloggers! If anyone else wants in, just let me know! It will be a great way to celebrate my birthday! Apparently one of my students thinks that my birthday will not be complete without having a lunch date with him. So I guess my birthday will be celebrated with a 10 year old too! 

I do not know why in the world this picture is showing up like this. I did not upload it like this. It is not saved like this on my computer. Stupid blogger!

So I was at Buffalo Wild Wings sitting next to a table full of men. They apparently were having a baby shower. You heard me- a table full of men! NO women! I don't think I know any guys that would have decorated with balloons and all.....

Doodles

So while shopping in Rice Village last weekend, not only did we find Blue Leaf, we also found this cute little shop called Doodles. OMG! The CUTEST baby stuff you have ever seen in your entire life! If I was expecting, I would literally go broke from shopping here. They have the cutest things to decorate a nursery with. It is full of adorable clothes too.

Shoes galore!! There are way more than what the picture shows.

Pinterest Birthday List

So its my birthday in about 2 weeks (September 1 to be exact). I will be 27. Yikes!

This is not exactly where I thought my life would be at 27, but I guess life doesn't always go as planned. After seeing Savanah's post, I figured I should do my own birthday pinterest list!

I think these would be my go to work shoes. Every girl needs a good pair of flats and these are just perfect for the job! I think if I had to pick a color, it would be the tan/brownish. I would want a neutral color and I wear brown more than black.

I really do need a new watch because my old one is broken. I love the Michael Kors watches of course, but cannot decide which one I like. I have looked at them in person, but have not actually tried any of them on. I need to do that before buying one because the bigger ones might look ridiculous on my small hand/wrist.

I have loved this lamp ever since I saw it several months ago. I have been thinking about going to get a Goodwill lamp and trying to DIY one myself. But since I had all summer and never did that, it seems that this might not happen!

Blue Leaf in Rice Village

My parents were in town all weekend because my mom had several doctors appointments in the med center on Thursday and Friday. We ate way too much the whole weekend and my mom and I got to shop on Saturday. We went to a really fun store and I took lots of crappy pictures with my i phone. This post would be so much better if I had used my Nikon.



The had really cute baby things- lots of decorations, clothes, toys, bedding, cribs, etc. They have a lot of things that you would not find in normal stores. If you need a baby shower gift, you should come here!

This is the only thing we bought. It is a baby time capsule. One side unscrews and you can put the baby's birth certificate, hair from first haircut, first lost tooth, etc. They have blue and pink ones as well as different sizes.

There was so many bath products and yummy smelling candles. I wish I could have gone home with them all!

These are such cute southern candles. They say beau, darlin, belle, and sugah!

The shop was 2 stories and had so many fun things in it. I cannot wait to go back when they have all of their Christmas decor out! If you are ever bored and in the mood to browse/shop/or need to buy a gift, you should come here!

Home sweet home & Picture Dump

We had a great time at the beach. I never even got my camera out of my bag so all I have is the terrible iPhone pics from my last post and then these pictures that a friend took. Most of our trip was spent relaxing on the beach and drinking eating. (see lovely t-shirt from last post)

We attempt to get together every summer, but it's always hard with everyone having a different schedule. This year only 5 girls were able to make it, but we still had a blast! We are already planning next years trip. 

This picture is from the one night we went out to eat- @ Big Fish- I wouldn't recommend it.

These pictures are from a stop at Lulu's on the way home. 

I already miss being on the beach and I am sooo sad that I have to go back to work tomorrow! We have a week and a half of professional development meetings and then the kids start on Monday, August 22. I have so much to do before then! Next week will be a crazy week! Maybe a week for a Htownblogger happy hour??

In other news, I am extremely excited that it is almost football season! Only 24 more days till my Tigers are playing in Cowboy Stadium. This will absolutely be the best game of the year besides when we play in the national championship game! Here are a few pictures that get my excited and remind me of all my girls too!
