Epic Ladies Weekend Part 2

So on Friday, Savanah, Rochelle, and I got in the car to head to Austin. I will say we were a little skeptical about how the weekend would go since we were headed to meet complete strangers. We definitely had the "oh no what if this weekend goes terribly wrong" conversations and figured we were in for a trip that would be talked about for quite some time. Well all I can say is that we accomplished that. We made awesome friendships and had a great time that will be laughed about for quite some time.

Friday night, we went to Shady Grove and met up with Brittany, Holly, and Jana. We had never met these ladies before so we did what anyone would do...use that as an excuse to head straight to the bar!  Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures this night. I made up for that on Saturday night don't you worry.

Saturday, we went to Home Slice and Hey Cupcake for some deliciousness. Let me tell you ladies, these cupcakes are awesome. The icing is made with cream cheese and it's so good. It definitely rivals Sprinkles, but it's hard to compare because they are very different.

Saturday night, we met a group out at Iron Cactus for dinner. The food was great, but the company was better!

We danced the night away as if we had been friends for years. It was one of the most fun nights I have had in awhile and I can't wait to spend more time with these ladies.

I wish this picture wasn't blurry. That's what I get for letting the door guy be in charge of the camera.

And I will leave you with that picture. What would your caption be for it???

Epic Ladies Weekend Part 1

If you follow me or any of the girls in these pics, you probably already know a lot about our weekend in Austin. Let me rephrase that, you know what happened between the hours of 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM on Saturday night/Sunday morning due to the fact that we thought it would be a good idea to blow up twitter at that time.

We had a fantastic weekend getting together with Houston  bloggers and Austin bloggers. Here are a few pictures to preview until I have time to actually post details. If you weren't there, you missed out!

My Bad Attitude About SATC

I have a very bad habit of getting into bed, turning all of the lights off, and then playing on my phone. I can ALWAYS find something to look at whether its Twitter, blogs, my mom's facebook account since I don't have my own, People, TMZ, etc. You name it, I will look at it.

One night last week, I was doing just that and came upon this article by People magazine. I may be late to this news, however I am just now reading about it.

When do sequels and prequels EVER work? SATC 2 was decent. I will give them that, but it didn't even compare to the first one. I can't even imagine SATC 3. How can you possible think SATC will work without SJP and the rest of the gang???

No matter how great these girls may be, it just will not be the same!

They once made the mistake thinking that Kelly and Zach could be replaced. You think they would have learned then!

Even when they use the right characters, sequels don't always work! Usually Reese can do no wrong in my book, but this was a bust!

Why ruin a good thing???

I heard the sequel/prequel (whatever) to Star Wars or Star Trek was a total bust, but that's not really my thang! So if it's yours, maybe you can understand my pessimistic attitude.

Rather than get disappointed, I am not going to get my hopes up for SATC 3. Call me a pessimist if you want. Maybe I will be surprised. Maybe it will turn out to be the greatest movie ever. Who knows!

What do you think about SATC 3? Are you looking forward to it? Are there any sequels or prequels that disappointed you?

Rodeo Time

We laid around in the living room for hours just talking and catching up. Slowly one of us would get up to shower and then the next person wouldn't go shower for another hour. We were in no rush whatsoever. We finally made it out of the house around 3:00 and headed to RA Sushi for their happy hour sushi/drink menu.

After RA, we headed over to Reliant Stadium for the Rodeo Cook Off. We walked around for awhile and then headed over to the stage to hear Cory Morrow play.

We definitely had a few fried oreos. They were delicious!

We were home by 11:30 and ready to call it a night. Unfortunately, they had to leave at 5:40 AM on Sunday. Thankfully, I was able to go right back to bed!

We had a great weekend and I hope it's not another 5 years before we can all get together at the same place and same time. There is nothing like getting together with your college friends and reliving the college days just for a weekend. Yes, I said just for a weekend. No way could I do that or want to do that all the time!

Take your shoes off

I apologize for the amount of pictures in this post. It is definitely an overload of almost the same pictures over and over.

After happy hour, we headed home to get ready for the night. By the time 5 girls got ready with only 1 the bathroom, it was 9:45 before we even left the house for dinner.

We called a cab and had many issues with finding it. After about 10 minutes of walking around outside of my apartment trying to find the cab, this is what we looked like.

We finally made it to TQLA

They have quite an extensive drink menu so the madness begins shortly....

We left TQLA and headed to Eight on Washington. I am not a fan of this bar AT ALL. I am not a "clubby" girl in the least bit. I figured that with our group though, we would have fun anywhere. And we definitely did.

The MADNESS BEGINS

So we were dancing on the dance floor and got really tired of all of the guys that kept trying to dance on us or that were just standing there staring at us. We decided to go into a corner and have our own dance party, just the 5 of us girls. We also decided it would be a great idea to take off our heels.

Why we added napkins to our pile, I will never know!

As gross as it sounds, where we were dancing, the floor was pretty clean! It was definitely a great decision because all of our  moods changed drastically once we took our shoes off. We were some dancing fools!

The madness really begins now. While we were minding our business in our own little corner, the manager of Eight, comes over to us and asks if we would like to join some guys in the VIP section for free drinks. We didn't hesitate for one minute! I don't think we even discussed it. We grabbed our stuff and headed straight over there.

I cannot believe I am putting these pictures on the Internet. Thankfully no one from work reads my blog! The night definitely got crazy once we entered the VIP area. We were now dancing on the couches instead of the floor. We were pouring grey goose into those guys' (whoever they are) mouths.

Maybe we were too obnoxious for the guys or maybe they realized we weren't there for anything other than free drinks, but it was pretty much just us girls having fun in the VIP room for the rest of the night!

We ended the night with an obnoxious cab ride home and then all 5 of us piled on the pull out couch watching Borat at 3 AM.

Thankfully the pictures look like we were worse off than we really were. We were up by 9 the next morning and no one was hungover whatsoever! We all piled on the pull out again and had mimosas and biscuits! It was an awesome night out and relaxing morning.

Pampering Time Begins

We had to start off our girls weekend with some pampering of course. I have been to many nail places all over Houston. I have found that Bora Bora does a great job for a decent price. They also speak English which gives them major brownie points in my book.

After getting our nails did, we headed over to Rice Village to have a few happy hour drinks at Bakers Street. We also added one more to the bunch because Lauren finally was able to meet up with us. Lauren and I are the only two who live in Houston. The rest of the girls live in Louisiana. I wish we were all able to get together more often. The last time we were all together was probably 5 years ago.

The table did not stay clear for long. It was soon full of wine glasses, beer glasses and appetizers. It was definitely not a healthy weekend, but who cares!

We had to get home soon though to change and get ready for the long night ahead which needs it's own post due to the amount of pictures taken.

I am a single 20 something teacher in Charleston. I love to shop, decorate, cook, work with children, hang out with friends, and do anything in/on the water. Living near the beach definitely has its perks! I graduated from LSU and I LOVE to watch football. I will watch almost any college football game, but obviously love my tigers! I love to hang out with my family and hope to have my own one day.
