A bunch of nothing

Not much has been going on for me to blog about, but at the same time it has been crazy with teacher layoffs. It happened at my school last week. It was a terrible feeling, seeing the assistant principal coming down the hall, wondering who she was coming to get next. Thankfully, it was never me. Someone that I do work with closely got laid off though. It was pretty scary.

In other teaching news, the Science TAKS is in 2 weeks. I am hoping they are ready! For next year, I asked my principal if I could change over to 5th grade Language Arts and she said sure. I am ready for a change from science.

In dieting news, I have lost about 14 lbs. I am about halfway to my target! Yay!! I know the end of it will be much harder than the first 15 lbs. I have been on this plan for almost 2 months. I don't call it a diet or a plan really. It's just a new way of eating. I don't think I could ever go back to my old way of eating.

Here is a new website I found with healthy recipes. I made the pecan chicken from the biggest loser cookbook last week. It was pretty good.

This weekend, I am headed to Lake Charles for a family reunion. I am just going for the day and then coming back to Houston. I think for Easter, I will go to Lafayette so that I can spend some time there. I haven't been home since Christmas and since I have Good Friday off, I will have an extra day there.

One of my best friends had a baby boy on March 30. They named him Lincoln. I think that is such a cute name! He has been such a good baby so far. I don't have any pictures, but I will get some soon! I have already bought him so many things! I can't imagine what it will be like with my own kids!

I am a single 20 something teacher in Charleston. I love to shop, decorate, cook, work with children, hang out with friends, and do anything in/on the water. Living near the beach definitely has its perks! I graduated from LSU and I LOVE to watch football. I will watch almost any college football game, but obviously love my tigers! I love to hang out with my family and hope to have my own one day.
