Road Trip

Headed to Lafayette this weekend. I am taking off half day tomorrow so I will get to leave Houston around 11:30 instead of 3:30. Hopefully I will be in Lafayette by 3:30. I don't have much plans for Friday night. I will be eating boiled crawfish at my parents house and then head over to Kristin's house to see her and her fam. I also might go to the festival with my brother. My parents have been doing some major remodeling of their house so I am anxious to see it!

Saturday, I plan to go to a few shops in Lafayette, and then head to Baton Rouge to do some shopping. I am sure I will go to Vertigo in both cities. Michal's engagement party is at 7:00 in Baton Rouge. I will get to spend more time with my great college friends that I don't get to see often.

Sunday, I will hopefully get back to Houston at a decent time and make it to church Sunday night, but that might be hard to do.

I went to my first camera class on Wednesday evening. It was 2 1/2 hours long. I learned some things but some of it was over my head. There was lots of experienced photographers there. I am looking forward to my beginners classes in May. My brother needs me to take some pictures this weekend so I guess I will put my skills (or lack thereof) to use!

My brother

My brother is 23 today! Happy Birthday Brian!! I will be seeing him this weekend on my trip to Louisiana! He has asked me to take some pictures with my new camera for a website he is designing! He is currently going to UL with a degree in finance and plans to graduate in December. He is not sure what job he will have once he graduates. Hopefully, he will start looking soon.

Here he is with one of his dogs, Momba. The dog is much bigger now. It is a boxer......

Here he is with his other dog Mella......

Short and disgusted

Just a short post about TV that is on these days.......

I am not sure of a single TV show that has morals. I just watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters is on TV. Brothers and Sisters it not a show I watch weekly, but if I have nothing to do then I will watch it or sometimes it just stays on the TV, but I am not actually sitting down and watching it. Well tonight, it just stayed on the TV as I was cleaning up and I hear Kitty talking to her mom. The mom on the show is soo excited because this man has LEFT HIS WIFE after their affair in order to be with her! Granted she did not know about the wife to start with, but now she does and she is thrilled that he has left his wife, thrilled to be breaking up a marriage and family.

Is there any show on TV with morals, that we can turn on and not feel bad watching??? We have to hear about this kind of stuff in the real world. Shouldn't TV be a chance to get away from it??? And don't get me started on the rest of the TV shows included Desperate Housewives. I guess moral shows don't sell. I guess that's why Tila Tequila had a second show. Whatever happened to mostly innocent shows such as Full House or 7th Heaven or Boy Meets World. From what I remember, those were much more innocent than today's TV!

Lack of knowledge

We had a great Easter Sunday and I am sad the weekend is over.

We got to dye some Easter eggs, here is the before picture.....

And here is the after picture.......
I showed these pictures to my kids AKA my students. They thought it was really neat, but it kind of depresses me. Before I showed them the pictures, I asked them if they wanted to see the eggs I had dyed this weekend. Their immediate reaction was, "You killed the chickens in the eggs!" They had NO IDEA what I was talking about when I said I dyed eggs. So many childhood activities that we take for granted, they do not ever experience. There are so many nursery rhymes, songs, and stories that they have NEVER heard, that I heard 20 times when I was a child. There are so many different things that these kids do not experience and have no knowledge about, I could go on and on.
And here is a picture of Sophie sticking her tongue out at Wes because he is teasing her with a treat!

We also spent some time with Wes' mom, aunt, uncle, and grandma this weekend in Houston at lunch on Saturday at Grand Lux Cafe'. We have a wedding in Houston this coming weekend for Wes' cousin. My mom is also coming in this weekend though, so I may skip the rehearsal dinner on Friday night and just attend the wedding on Saturday, which is at 1:00, and totally interferes with anything I could do with my mom on Saturday, but oh well.
The next weekend, we have Michal's engagement party in Baton Rouge. Hopefully, May won't be such a packed month!
I am extremely looking forward to learning more about my camera! I have 6 classes coming up, 1 in April and 5 in May! I can't wait!!!!

one more thing

great post...check it out

Mckmama

Click there to see a great post about Jesus Christ

He is risen!!!

It is Easter morning! I will be off to church soon in the above outfit, along with a purplish/pinkish cardigan. I must figure how to post pictures of clothes like Erin and Tracy so I don't have the actual models in my pictures. So ladies, how do you put all the clothes you bought in those boxes?

I am excited to see what our pastor has prepared for the sermon today! I am so glad that I have found a church that I love. Click here if you would ever want to see some of his sermons. He did a great series on the "birds and the bees" as well as the end of times.

After church, Wes and I will be going to brunch somewhere and then we are going to dye Easter eggs! I can't wait, but he doesn't seem too excited!!

This weekend has been great, with boiled crawfish at Woodrow's again, shopping, and now Easter church and brunch!

I also bought this dress on sale at Ann Taylor. I love the new look with the belts!
And my biggest and best purchase of all this weekend, which I have been wanting for so so so long is my digital SLR camera!!

I have already signed up for several photography classes and can't wait to go to them and then take more classes and learn how to take some great pictures!!!

Easter plans

 Pregnancy Ticker

So the due date has changed to October 25. They wont find out what the baby is until May. I can't wait!! Had a rough day at school today along with several visits to the principal's office in the past week. After all is said and done, I still don't know what I will be teaching next year. At least after today, it's narrowed down to 2 grade levels, either of which I would be perfectly fine with. I will either be a second grade teacher and keep my current position, or move back to my old position as a 5th grade teacher, teaching only Math and Science.

Other than that, I am just sitting here, waiting for the Hills new season to start. I can't wait to watch it and see if I recognize any of the places they go to or show in the scenery. Watching it will definitely make me miss LA and I can't wait to go back!

We had a great weekend which included some boiled crawfish at Armadillo Palace and Woodrows. We also watched Slumdog Millionaire and 7 Pounds. We went shopping at the Galleria and I bought some shoes and Wes bought 4 dress shirts, a tie, and dress shoes.
Here are my shoes.....
They are actually kind of big for me so I might return them and get a smaller size. This week is a short week due to Friday being Good Friday and we have off. Wes' aunt, grandma, and mom will be passing through Houston on Saturday so we will have lunch with them. We havent made Easter plans yet. I just know we will be going to church and then brunch somewhere, but havent made that decision yet. What are your Easter plans?

I am a single 20 something teacher in Charleston. I love to shop, decorate, cook, work with children, hang out with friends, and do anything in/on the water. Living near the beach definitely has its perks! I graduated from LSU and I LOVE to watch football. I will watch almost any college football game, but obviously love my tigers! I love to hang out with my family and hope to have my own one day.
